Another in-state football recruit has given a verbal commitment to the University of Miami.
Ryan Mayes, a 6-foot-1 safety from Miami Northwestern High School, verbally committed to the Hurricanes on Monday. He is the sixth recruit to commit to Miami since Saturday.
Mayes' Northwestern teammate Michael Smith gave a verbal to Coach Al Golden and Miami on Saturday. Smith is a 6-2, 200-pound outside linebacker.
Scout.com's list of 2014 UM recruits shows 17 players overall, including 12 from Florida and 10 from South Florida.
