MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Memphis forward-guard Adonis Thomas plans to forego his final two seasons with the Tigers to sign with an agent and declare for the NBA draft.
The Commercial Appeal first reported Thomas' decision Thursday. Memphis coach Josh Pastner confirmed Thomas' decision in a text to The Associated Press.
The 6-foot-7, 240-pound Thomas was a McDonald's All-American in 2011 coming out of Melrose High in Memphis. He helped the Tigers go 31-5 this season before losing in the second round to Michigan State. Thomas started all 36 games this season as a sophomore and was the team's second-leading scorer averaging 11.7 points per game.
