KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee junior Jeronne Maymon had arthroscopic surgery to fix torn cartilage in his right knee, hours after the Volunteers lost in the National Invitation Tournament.

Senior associate athletic trainer Chad Newman says Maymon had surgery Tuesday at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The trainer says surgery went well with no timeframe yet for his recovery.

Maymon was a second-team All-Southeastern Conference forward. The native of Madison, Wis., averaged 12.7 points and a team-high 8.1 rebounds this season.

He led the Volunteers in scoring, rebounding, field-goal percentage and steals in SEC play. He came off the bench Monday night to lead the Vols with 17 points and seven rebounds in a season-ending loss to Middle Tennessee.
