SportsTime Ohio Indians color commentator Rick Manning will be honored by the Cleveland Association of Broadcasting Friday.
Manning is one of four honorees, including Jennifer Hanson, Al Roker and Mike Snyder, to be honored with an award for excellence in broadcasting at a luncheon in the Flats.
The former Tribe center fielder is in his 21st season providing color commentary on Indians games, working in the booth with Matt Underwood for the eighth year.
Manning's career spanned 15 seasons, beginning with the Indians in 1972 and ending with the Brewers in 1987. In his eight years as an Indian, Manning won a Gold Glove and the BBWAA "Good Guy" award.
He is a member of the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame, the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame and was selected as one of the "100 Greatest Indians Players to play for the Cleveland Indians."
