MINNEAPOLIS -- Returning the core of a team that strung together one of the most dominant runs in WNBA history, the Lynx aren't in dire need of much restocking.

But they can add some auxiliary help in Monday night's WNBA Draft.

Minnesota has four picks in the three-round affair, which begins at 7 p.m. The Lynx will pick 12th overall with their only first-round selection, 15th and 24th overall in the second round and 36th overall in the third.

The Lynx locked up key contributors Lindsay Whalen, Seimone Augustus, Janel McCarville and Monica Wright with multi-year extensions during the past year, and Maya Moore and Rebekkah Brunson are also back to try and defend their 2013 championship. Minnesota has won two of the past three WNBA titles.

With every franchise cornerstone coming back, it'll be tough for a rookie picked late in the first or early in the second round to crack the roster. The Lynx do need depth at the power forward and center spots behind Brunson and McCarville, which is why they inked deals with 2012 first-round draft pick Damiris Dantas and 2013 third-round selection Waltiea Rolle this offseason.

There's a good chance they'll draft a forward or center with the last pick in the first round and let her battle with those two to earn a roster spot. Minnesota is already two-deep at both guard spots, with Lindsey Moore expected to spell Whalen, and Wright able to play both the point and shooting guard positions behind Whalen and Augustus.
