Lightning acquire defenseman Jason Garrison from Canucks
PHILADELPHIA -- The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired defenseman Jason Garrison from the Vancouver Canucks.
Tampa Bay also obtained the rights to unsigned draft pick Jeff Costello and Vancouver's seventh-round selection in 2015 for the Lightning's second-round pick (50th overall) in Friday night's draft.
Garrison, who signed with the Canucks as a free agent in 2012, has four years left on his contract which produces a cap hit of $4.6 million.
The blue liner finished last season with seven goals and 26 assists in 81 games for Vancouver. He is a mobile, puck-moving defenseman who provides a big shot from the point.
Garrison posted a career-high 16 goals and 33 points during the 2011-12 season with the Florida Panthers.
