#LAASpring Observations: Angels vs. Athletics
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Sights and sounds from the Angels' 4-2 loss to the Athletics on Friday.
Shohei Ohtani .... good at flip cup?!
Why yes, yes he is!
Before Friday's game vs. Oakland, the Angels took part, in what can be called 'team building', some flip cup fun.
Two things: They were stretching and the fellas were drinking water.
We captured most of the fun on Facebook Live, which you can watch below, and check out Ohtani helping his team win several rounds with some on-point flipping.
Ohtani put in some work at the plate on Thursday during some minor-league at-bats.
This club has the right attitude
Stop us if you've heard this one before -- but this could be a great season for the Angels.
The pitching staff has been solid, Mike Trout is the best player in the game, Albert Pujols is slimmed down and still killing the baseball and, oh yeah, that Ohtani game.
Also, Pujols can still hit the cover off a baseball!
We caught some of the Angels' batting practice during another Facebook Live video (below) before Friday's game and it's clear ... They just seem to enjoy each other's company.
Our guys are good
You get to see our FOX Sports West broadcast talent mostly while they are on camera.
But, plenty of action goes on behind-the-scenes.
Check out a quick stop in the FSW broadcast booth, with Jose Mota and Terry Smith (also, Gubie makes a cameo!)
News and notes
The Angels are on pace to surpass 100,000 fans at Tempe Diablo Stadium. It marks the seventh-straight season, and the 13th of the last 15, in which the club has achieved said feat. On Friday, the attendance was announced as 7,434.
The Angels close out their time in Tempe vs. the Diamondbacks on Saturday before returning to SoCal for a three-game exhibition series vs. the Dodgers. All three games, Sunday-Tuesday, can be seen on FOX Sports GO.
