Kinsler falls to second in All-Star voting

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers may have lost a starter for the All-Star Game as New York's Robinson Cano has passed up Ian Kinsler in American League voting at second base.
Cano has 3,559,290 votes while Kinsler has 3,452,367.
On-line voting ends Thursday night and the team will be announced this weekend.
While Kinsler has faltered in the voting, outfielder Josh Hamilton is on the verge of setting a voting record. Hamilton, who leads all vote getters, has received 7,310,824 votes. The all-time record was set last year by Toronto's Jose Bautista with 7,454,753 votes.
Hamilton isn't the only Rangers players with a comfortable lead. Mike Napoli is poised to be the starting catcher as he has a lead of more than one million votes over Minnesota's Joe Mauer. Adrian Beltre leads Detroit's Miguel Cabrera by more than 300,000 votes at third base.
Nelson Cruz is in fourth place in the outfield voting and David Murphy is sixth. Elvis Andrus is second in shortstop voting but more than 1.6 million votes behind Derek Jeter. Michael Young trails David Ortiz by more than 500,000 votes at designated hitter.
