Lame headline today? Perhaps, but there wasn't much big news on Thursday. Astros 2B Jose Altuve left last night's game after getting hit in the right hand by a pitch. X-rays were negative, but Altuve's status for tonight is iffy.

Reds 2B Brandon Phillips injured his right index finger while fielding a ground ball on Thursday. Phillips was pinch-hit for in the eighth inning because he was having trouble swinging the bat. His status for the weekend is TBD.

Finally, Cubs 2B/OF Emilio Bonifacio is probably headed to the DL due to a ribcage injury suffered on Thursday.

On to the rest of the news:

Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury left Thursday's game with what the Yankees called "right hip tightness," but he should be ready to go tonight.

Streaming starters: Roenis Elias got pummeled by the Yankees on Thursday, so we're down to 41-30 for the season. The weekend picks are Jose Quintana (owned in 12 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) tonight against the Royals; Houston's Jarred Cosart versus the struggling Rays on Saturday; and Cosart's teammate, Brad Peacock (0.7 percent owned) on Sunday. The Saturday/Sunday options aren't great, and targeting the Rays seemed like the best way to go.

Mets' closer Jenrry Mejia left Thursday's game due to back stiffness. His prognosis is TBD.

The Mariners have placed OF Michael Saunders (shoulder) on the DL, and called up Jesus Montero to replace him. Montero will be the DH versus lefties, so don't expect much. He's not a complete disaster any more, but a .270 BA with eight homers and an .800 OPS in the Pacific Coast League isn't anything to get excited about.

Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez missed Thursday's game, but got a cortisone shot in his injured right shoulder, and is still day to day. In other Dodger news, there's a decent chance that catcher A.J. Ellis (ankle) will come off the DL in time for tonight's game.

It sounds like Red Sox SS Stephen Drew (oblique) might be out for awhile. Drew might get an MRI today if things don't improve.

The Indians have activated 1B Nick Swisher from the DL.

Alfredo Simon ... still rolling. I don't get it, either.

The Cardinals will decide today if Oscar Taveras will go back to the minors to make way for the returning Matt Adams. Here's an interesting look at the factors that will play into the Cards' decision. I think Taveras will be sent down, because I don't see how he'll play enough if he stays.

See you back here Monday morning.
