ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- The Texas Rangers have avoided salary arbitration with Jurickson Profar, agreeing to a $605,000 contract with the infielder who missed the past two seasons with right shoulder trouble.

With Profar's deal Thursday, the Rangers still have five players eligible for salary arbitration.

Profar tore a muscle in his right shoulder at the end of spring training in 2014. He had surgery on his shoulder again last February, and didn't play until a 12-game injury rehabilitation assignment at Class A Hickory and Double-A Frisco last August and September.

In the Arizona Fall League, Profar hit .267 with two home runs and 20 RBIs in 20 games.

Profar was 19 when he made his major league debut for the Rangers in September 2012, and hit a home run in his first at-bat.
