Jerome Simpson upset over stolen tea set

The state of Minnesota has been pretty cold of late for mid-April with a recorded high of 38 this past weekend in Minneapolis, but for Vikings' wide receiver Jerome Simpson, it got a whole lot "colder" on Sunday.

Simpson discovered that some of his property had been stolen off his front porch early Sunday, including two pairs of custom Jordan brand shoes and, most intriguingly, a $600 Teavana tea set, leading the receiver to decry his neighbors he once thought were trustworthy.

The unfortunate turn of events led to a rather amusing Twitter rant.

In this day and age, leaving items unprotected overnight is a risk, no matter what type of neighborhood you might live in. Simpson can tell you that.

When asked why he would even possess such an expensive tea set, Simpson stuck up for his trusted Teavana tea.

With the Minnesota weather set to warm up and the porch becoming much more inhabitable, Simpson would be well advised to not leave valuables outside unattended for very long. Let's just say getting stolen from is just not his cup of tea.

The Vikings re-signed Simpson to a one-year contract this offseason. Simpson, 27, had 26 catches for 274 yards last season in his first year in Minnesota.
