Jeff Hammond
Jeff Hammond, former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship crew chief, serves as an analyst for NASCAR on FOX's live, at-track prerace program and race coverage. He joined FOX Sports at the conclusion of the 2000 NASCAR season.
Additionally, Hammond is an analyst for FOX Sports 1's NASCAR RACE HUB and the network's Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series practice and qualifying coverage.
In 1982, Hammond took the helm as crew chief for the first time atop the pit box for Darrell Waltrip at the pinnacle of the future Hall of Famer's career. Together, the pair visited Victory Lane 43 times, including Waltrip's 1989 Daytona 500 victory. Hammond was Waltrip's pit boss for his 1982 and 1985 Sprint Cup championships, and Hammond's crew won the 1989 GM Goodwrench Teamwork of Excellence Award.He retired with 508 races as a crew chief.
Hammond also served as jack man for Cale Yarborough's three Cup championships before winning the 1981 championship as Waltrip's jack man.
Hammond resides near Charlotte, N.C., with his family.
