Indians VeloSano team raises more than $125K for cancer research
The Cleveland Indians are proud to announce that the club's VeloSano team has raised over $125,000 for cancer research.
The Indians partnered once again with Cleveland Clinic to support VeloSano, an annual charity bike ride event. The Indians fielded a team of nearly 60 riders, including Indians Chairman and CEO Paul Dolan and other members of the Indians front office.
In June, the Indians hosted a charity celebrity bartending event at The Corner that raised over $6,000 for the event; Terry Francona, Jason Kipnis, Francisco Lindor, Trevor Bauer and more appeared at the event.
VeloSano, Latin for "swift cure," is a major community fundraising initiative, where 100% of dollars raised by VeloSano participants directly benefits cancer research at Cleveland Clinic. At its core, it's a cycling event where riders commit to raise a pre-determined dollar amount by requesting support from personal contacts.
