CLEVELAND, OH-- The Cleveland Indians today announced that RHP FRANK HERRMANN was optioned to AAA Columbus following yesterday’s 4-3 loss in 12 innings to the LA Angels in Anaheim, CA. The Indians intend to activate RHP JOE SMITH from the 15-day disabled list prior to tomorrow night’s 7:05PM ET contest against the Baltimore Orioles in Progressive Field.
Herrmann made four (4) appearances out of the bullpen with the Indians going 0-0 with an 8.31 ERA (4.1IP, 6H, 5R/4ER, BB, 7K).
