SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Having Thursday off certainly helped the Indians offense.

The Tribe had 16 hits, including four doubles, as they defeated Colorado 14-3 in a Cactus League game at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

Michael Brantley went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs while Nyjer Morgan also had three RBI. Brantley is batting .500 in Cactus League play and has seven RBI. Lonnie Chisenhall and Elliot Johnson each had two hits and two RBI while Asdrubal Cabrera also had two hits.

"It looks like guys got their legs under them," Terry Francona said. "Now we have to get them playing and stretched out and try to have everyone feeling good the last week."

Justin Masterson gave up his first runs of the spring but was solid. A day after talks about an extension broke off, the right-hander went six innings and gave up a pair of runs on five hits while striking out six and walking two. Masterson also had two wild pitches and said he was fighting himself out there at times.

"I felt OK.. I just didn't have the best fluidity in my motion," he said. "I didn't feel the most comfortable today but it worked out pretty well. That's where you learn a lot and try to make it happen."

C.C. Lee gave up a solo shot to Ryan Wheeler in the seventh for the other Colorado run.

Cody Allen and Tyler Sturdevant each worked a scoreless inning of relief.

The Indians and Rockies will meet again on Saturday in Goodyear. Corey Kluber will get the start for the Tribe against Jordan Lyles.
