Indians make reliever roster moves

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians Wednesday announced the following roster moves relative to the 2016 Major League roster:

Recalled RHP Shawn Armstrong (#51) from Triple-A Columbus.

Optioned RHP Austin Adams to AAA Columbus.

Armstrong, 25, has spent nearly the entire 2016 season in Triple-A Columbus, posting a mark of 3-1 with 6 saves and a 2.18 ERA in 40 relief outings (41.1IP, 26H, 10ER, 27BB, 62K, .179 avg).  He has not allowed a run over his last 12 appearances since July 3 (12.1IP, 7H, 17K) and for the year at AAA is averaging 13.50 strikeouts per 9.0IP.   The 2016 Triple-A All-Star was with Cleveland on May 31 and appeared in one Major League game during his first stint with Cleveland in 2016.
