The Miami Hurricanes announced Tuesday afternoon they will open their first five bowl practices to the public, beginning this weekend.
Miami (9-3, 5-3 ACC), which doesn't know its destination or opponent yet, will be competing in its first bowl since 2010. The Hurricanes last won a bowl in 2006 -- a 21-20 victory over Nevada in the MPC Computers Bowl in Boise, Idaho.
All five practices will be held at Cobb Stadium (home to the women's soccer team), which runs along San Amaro Drive and sits adjacent to the GreenTree Practice Fields.
The first two practices will be Saturday (1-2:45 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.-12:45 p.m.). The final three will be Dec. 13 (5-7 p.m.), Dec. 14 (1-2:45 p.m.) and Dec. 15 (1-2:45 p.m.).
With the NCAA saga behind them, the Hurricanes welcome both the opportunity and the community.
Head coach Al Golden called it one of the crucial things the program couldn't do over the past two years to help recruiting.
"Being able to go into bowl practice and having the kids in South florida come watch bowl practice and watch us operate and be around our players and get to know our teams and players," Golden said during Saturday's teleconference. "Being able to go to a bowl site and all the residual that goes with it."
