How old is Indians pitcher Scott Atchison? 'His first career strikeout was Babe Ruth'

Indians reliever Scott Atchison is 38 years old, which is about 10 years older than the team's average player age of 28.7.

While he's not the oldest player on the team -- Jason Giambi is 43 -- the gray-haired right-hander surely wears the part of the grizzled veteran quite well. Just ask his youthful teammates, who spent the better part of Tuesday night having fun at Atchison's expense on Twitter.

According to Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com, the barrage all started when Atchison showed Corey Kluber a tweet from a fan that poked fun at his age.

"I showed Kluber because I thought it was pretty funny," said Atchison via Cleveland.com.

And from there, all bets were off:

"It's all in good fun," Atchison said. "I guess if they weren't making fun of me it would mean they didn't like me.

Hey, I've got gray hair and I don't look young," said Atchison. "I still feel good and young and that's all that really matters."
