The Miami Heat announced on Monday the official signing of Larry Drew II to add to their training camp roster, which now stands at 19.
Drew spent time last season with the Heat's D-League affiliate team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and made 11 appearances in Summer League with the Heat, averaging 4.4 points, 3.6 assists, 1.55 steals and 1.5 rebounds.
With Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole and Shabazz Napier already on the team, Monday's transaction is likely a move in order for the team to subsequently waive him and assign him to the Skyforce in the near future.
The Heat must trim their roster to 15 players before Oct. 29 start of the regular season.
