Matt Harrison was at Rangers Fan Fest Friday to pick up his pitcher of the year award.
The left-hander, who is coming off an All-Star season, may have time Saturday to talk about a new contract.
Harrison, who is arbiration eligible and will become a free agent following the 2014 season, is hopeful something can get done.
"We're definitely still talking," said Harrison. "We'll see where that goes. We haven't got anything finished yet. I'm excited about what's happening and the opportunity to spend some time here. I definitely will have some time to think about that tomorrow."
The Rangers have a tendency to get deals done during spring training. Last spring they signed Derek Holland to a deal through the 2016 season that includes club options for 2017 and 2018. Harrison's situation is different because he's already entering his second year of arbitration.
