Grace Hall wins Spinaway Stakes

Grace Hall edged favored Judy the Beauty by 1-3/4 lengths Sunday in the 120th running of the $250,000 Spinaway Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Saratoga Race Course.

Ramon Dominguez rode the Anthony Dutrow-trained Grace Hall, undefeated in two starts after running seven furlongs in 1 minute, 23.74 seconds. She earned $150,000 for her owners, Michael Dubb and the Bethlehem Stables.

Grace Hall returned $8.80 for a win bet.

Judy the Beauty. saw her career winning streak snapped at three. And Why Not was third.

Earlier, favored Brilliant Speed, ridden by John Velazquez, won the $100,000 Saranac Stakes for 3-year-olds by 2-1/2 lengths over Queen'splatekitten. The Tom Albertrani-trained colt ran 1-1/8 miles over the inner turf course in 1:48.73, earned $60,000 for his owner, Live Oak Plantation. He paid $6.50.
