Mike Holmgren might think quarterback Johnny Manziel is "too freelancey" but through the pre-draft process he's convinced at least one team with a high pick that he's ready to do the job full time.
One of the many -- but perhaps biggest and most intriguing -- questions surrounding this year's draft is where Manziel will be selected. Draft prognosticators have pegged him anywhere from as low as late in the first round (like to the Cleveland Browns at No. 26) or the No. 1 overall pick of the Houston Texans.
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer offered new clues Thursday about Manziel's stock, which is allegedly trending upward.
Glazer's insights prove that Manziel has done a strong job of quelling teams' fears about his Johnny Football "alter ego." What it will come down to, and ultimately should, is if teams view him as a franchise quarterback.
It's difficult to compare Manziel to any one quarterback. He has the size of a Russell Wilson or Drew Bress but style of a Robert Griffin III or young Michael Vick, both of whom have been hindered by injuries.
You do have to wonder who that top 10 team is. The Browns reportedly spent a lot of time with Manziel, working him out in College Station and then hosting him in Berea after skipping his pro day. But, then again, Manziel also visited with the Texans, Jaguars and Raiders.
All of the mystery and speculation finally comes to a head in just a week now. It will be fun to know once and for all which uniforms guys like Manziel will put on after all these months of debate.
