FOX Sports Wisconsin Midweek Stock Report for Nov. 25
Every Wednesday, FOX Sports Wisconsin takes a look at which athletes' stock is trending up and whose is trending down.
In other words, who is making a meteoric rise, and who is quickly plummeting.
With that in mind, let's "take stock" of the current sports scene in Wisconsin, shall we?
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Packers FS
Clinton-Dix, though still just 22 years old, played like a seasoned vet in Green Bay's rivalry win in Minneapolis last Sunday. The second-year free safety had a team-high eight total tackles against Minnesota, with one sack, one tackle for loss and one QB hit. The Alabama product now has 72 combined tackles this season, to go along with two interceptions and one forced fumble.
Vince Biegel, Badgers LB
Biegel nipped at Northwestern's heels all day last Saturday, producing a career-high 14 tackles. The Wisconsin Rapids native also had a sack and a tackle for loss. The Badgers ended up losing, 13-7, but it was through no fault of Biegel's. The junior linebacker has seven total sacks this season.
Jajuan Johnson, Marquette G
This junior guard came through in the clutch in Monday's 81-80 upset of No. 22 LSU. Johnson canned the winning free throws with 10.8 seconds left in the semifinals of the Legends Classic, as Marquette won its most anticipated nonconference game of the season. That trip to the charity stripe capped a night in which Johnson had 16 points to go along with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. Marquette then edged Arizona State in overtime on Tuesday night, in the title game of the Legends Classic.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh football
The third-ranked Titans (10-1) strolled past St. Scholastica in the NCAA Division III playoffs last weekend. Oshkosh's defense limited St. Scholastica to just 221 total yards. Meanwhile, Titans sophomore quarterback Brett Kasper threw for 336 yards and a pair of scores.
Badgers running game
Last Saturday's loss to Northwestern featured a struggle of epic proportions for Wisconsin's running attack. Believe it or not, the once-vaunted Badgers ground game produced minus-26 net rushing yards against the Wildcats, including sacks. It represented the Badgers' worst rushing performance this century. Corey Clement led UW with 24 yards on 10 carries. Joel Stave was saddled with a stat line of nine carries for minus-58 yards.
Randall Cobb, Packers WR
While many elements of the Packers' offense clicked last Sunday, Cobb had an uncharacteristically shaky performance. The fifth-year receiver had two catches for 24 yards and a touchdown, but his day also featured a couple glaring drops. Cobb also saw nine total targets, meaning he left a few big plays on the table. For the season, the 25-year-old Kentucky product has 47 receptions on 87 total targets.
