FOX Sports Wisconsin Midweek Stock Report for Dec. 2
Every Wednesday, FOX Sports Wisconsin takes a look at which athletes' stock is trending up and whose is trending down.
In other words, who is making a meteoric rise, and who is quickly plummeting.
With that in mind, let's "take stock" of the current sports scene in Wisconsin, shall we?
Joe Schobert, Badgers OLB
Schobert's final regular-season game in Badgers fatigues was a memorable one, as he starred in Wisconsin's 31-21 victory over host Minnesota, helping keep Paul Bunyan's Axe in seemingly permanent lock-down in Madison. The senior linebacker produced his fifth forced fumble of the season and had his first career interception. Schobert ended the 2015 regular season with 9.5 sacks and 76 tackles and was named the Big Ten's winner of the Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year honor.
Eddie Lacy, Packers RB
The Packers don't appear to be world-beaters lately, but their young running back seems to have found his footing. Lacy has produced back-to-back 100-yard rushing games for the first time as a pro. After churning out 100 yards on 22 carries in a win over Minnesota, the 25-year-old had 105 yards on 17 carries against Chicago (albeit in a 17-13 loss) on Thanksgiving night. Lacy has 513 rushing yards and three TDs this season, to go along with a 4.2 yards-per-carry average.
Dare Ogunbowale, Badgers RB
Wisconsin's run game has been maligned at times this season, but Ogunbowale changed that for at least a day last Saturday, rumbling for 155 yards at Minnesota. Ogunbowale had 33 carries against the Gophers, including an 18-yard scoring run. He averaged 4.7 yards per attempt. The junior tailback enters the postseason with a team-best 769 rushing yards and seven rushing TDs.
Badgers men's basketball
The Badgers enjoyed an icy reception in Norman, Okla., on Sunday, as they were never able to heat up in a 65-48 loss to seventh-ranked Oklahoma. Wisconsin fell to 4-3 this season, as it shot just 23.5 percent overall from the field. Standout Bronson Koenig had an especially rough outing, making just 3 of 18 field-goal attempts.
O.J. Mayo, Bucks SG
Mayo has struggled to find his shooting stroke the last few outings, going a combined 4 for 17 (23.5 percent) from the field over his last three games. In last Friday's loss to Orlando, for example, the seventh-year pro went 1 for 6 from the field and 0 for 4 from beyond the arc, ending with five points in 25 minutes. Clearly, the 28-year-old is still adjusting to his role with the 2015-16 Bucks.
Davante Adams, Packers WR
In many ways, Adams appears to be the poster boy for Green Bay's offensive struggles of late. In the aforementioned loss to Chicago last Thursday night, Adams had just two receptions for 14 yards -- on 11 total targets. So far in 2015, the Fresno State product has 32 receptions for 322 yards, on 63 total targets.
