FOX Sports West High School Football Rankings: Week 6

BY foxsports • October 3, 2016

Week 5 of our CIF-SS football coverage is in the books.

Now, onto Week 6:

Ranking (Previous) School (Record)

1. (1) Mater Dei (5-0)

The Monarchs had a bye last weekend and will open up Trinity League play against No. 12 ranked Santa Margarita. The Eagles only loss this year was to No. 4 ranked Mission Viejo so it should be fun to see how these two match up.

2. (2) Corona Centennial (4-1)

The Huskies had their bye last weekend at the perfect time and should get a few players back and healthy. They'll have a test this weekend against a Roosevelt team that has a handful of playmakers on the squad.

3. (3) St. John Bosco (4-1)

The Braves had a bye last weekend and will take on No. 16 ranked Servite in what should be a very physical matchup.

4. (4) Mission Viejo (6-0)

No bye for the Diablos as they pummeled an overmatched El Toro team 55-14. Mission will take on a solid Tesoro team this weekend in what should be a much closer contest.

5. (5) Rancho Cucamonga (5-0) (vs. Upland, Friday, 7:30p, Prime Ticket/FOX Sports GO)

The Cougars had a bye last week and next take on the one team we think has a chance to upset them in league play in Upland. The Highlanders have beaten Rancho the last five years so you know the Cougs will be ready to go.

6. (6) JSerra (4-1) (at Orange Lutheran, Friday, 7p, Prep Zone/FOX Sports GO)

The Lions also had a bye and will take on Orange Lutheran on Prep Zone. The Lancers aren't currently ranked but are a very solid team who beat perennial national power Denver (Colo.) Mullen two weeks ago.

7. (7) Vista Murrieta (4-1) (at Murrieta Valley, Friday, 7p, Prep Zone/FOX Sports GO)

The Broncos travel to play No. 18 ranked Murrieta Valley in what will be huge test for Vista's defense. MV has one of the most explosive passing attacks in the entire west region and this should be one of the marquee games in the state.

8. (8) Serra (3-3)

The Cavs took out Loyola 41-30 and have now won three straight after losing their first three games of the season. They'll take on Notre Dame this weekend in what should be another stiff test.

9. (9) La Mirada (4-2)

We said we didn't think anyone would come within two touchdowns of La Mirada the rest of the year and they manhandled Norwalk 62-0 over the weekend.

10. (10) Calabasas (6-0) (at Westlake, Friday, 7p, Prep Zone/FOX Sports GO)

The Coyotes had their toughest test of the year and pulled away for a very impressive 37-21 over Valencia. Quarterback Tristan Gebia threw for 503 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another score in the win.

The Next 10:

11. (11) Long Beach Poly (3-2)

12. (12) Santa Margarita (4-1)

13. (13) Cathedral (6-0)

14. (14) Chaminade (3-2)

15. (16) Bishop Amat (4-2)

16. (17) Servite (3-2)

17. (18) Charter Oak (5-0)

18. (19) Murrieta Valley (3-2) (vs. No. 7 Vista Murrieta, 7p, Prep Zone/FOX Sports GO)

19. (20) Oaks Christian (4-2)

20. (NR) Edison (4-1)
