FOX Sports Southwest is paying tribute to the Moore, Oklahoma tornado victims with special features airing during Texas Rangers pregame coverage on July 4. Moore was hit by a devastating tornado on May 20 that took the lives of 24 people and injured hundreds.

"The American Way" features showcase ways the nation's baseball and softball communities pitched in to help Oklahoma recover, rebuild, and memorialize those who were lost.

Efforts from across the country are highlighted in the features, including the outpouring of support from communities in Texas by the Alvin Bayou Babes youth softball squad and the
Baylor baseball team:

• Moore, Oklahoma native Melissa Hodge wanted to do something to honor the memory of Sydney Angle, a 9-year-old softball player who tragically lost her life in the tornado.

Hodge designed a special helmet sticker with Sydney's No. 35 for her daughter's softball team, the Alvin Bayou Babes. They played in memory of Sydney all the way to the Texas 8U state championship..

• When the Big 12 baseball tournament in Oklahoma City was postponed by rain shortly after the tornado, the Baylor baseball team headed to a goodwill center in Oklahoma City to help out by separating dozens of boxes of donated items. To show their support,
the Bears also donned Oklahoma helmet stickers throughout the tournament.

"Americans helping Americans means support from neighbors at the most difficult times," said FOX Sports Southwest Senior Vice President/General Manager Jon Heidtke. "That messagecertainly rings true in the communities from our area. The efforts of the athletes who have come together to assist those affected by the Moore tornado is simply amazing."

"The American Way" features will air July 4 on RANGERS LIVE at 6:30 p.m. CT before the Rangers host the Seattle Mariners on FOX Sports Southwest and FOX Sports Oklahoma.

The features also are scheduled to air across all FOX Sports Regional Networks, along with FOX Sports, SPEED, FUEL TV, FOX Soccer and FOXSports.com.
