FOX Sports Florida features 8 hours of Marlins programming on Opening Night
MIAMI -- As Miami readies for the much-anticipated return of Marlins baseball, FOX Sports Florida, the statewide television home of the Marlins, is excited to announce its extended coverage of Marlins Opening Night on Tuesday, April 5th. This year, fans can tune in on FOX Sports Florida starting at 5 p.m. for a full afternoon and evening of Marlins' programming.
FOX Sports Florida's live coverage of Marlins Opening Night will start promptly at 6 p.m. with a special, one-hour pregame show from Marlins Park. A broadcast team of six will provide extensive analysis as Marlins' broadcasters Rich Waltz, Preston Wilson, Craig Minervini, Jessica Blaylock, Carl Pavano and Jeff Conine will all play a role. Craig and Jeff will anchor coverage from the FOX Sports Florida desk in center field, while Jessica and Carl will open up the pregame from the West Plaza. The pregame show will feature an exclusive sit-down interview between new color analyst Eduardo Perez and new Marlins Hitting Coach Barry Bonds, in addition to live coverage of all the pregame festivities, including FOX Sports Florida cameras following Wei-Yin Chen as he takes the mound for first pitch.
Marlins Owner Jeffrey Loria, Marlins President David Samson and new Marlins Manager Don Mattingly are scheduled to join to the broadcast during the pregame show, while Marlins President of Baseball Operations Michael Hill is scheduled to join Rich and Preston in the booth during the third inning.
