
Former FSU assistant coach, AD Vaughn Mancha passes away

Former Florida State football assistant coach and athletic director Vaughn Mancha has died on Thursday, AL.com reported. He was 89.
Mancha, a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, was FSU's running backs coach in the 1950s and coached Lee Corso and Burt Reynolds. He also was FSU athletics director from 1960-72 and was part of the hiring of young football assistants like Bobby Bowden, Bill Parcells and Joe Gibbs.
He is also known as the athletic director who improved FSU's football scheduling and paved the way for future bowl games.
