Flat Out powered past the field with a five-wide sweep to win the $500,000 Cigar Mile on Saturday at Aqueduct.

Javier Castellano was the riding star with five wins, including a trio of $400,000 stakes: Stopchargingmaria in the Demoiselle, Wedding Toast in the Comely and Honor Code in the Remsen.

Flat Out rebounded from an eighth-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Classic with his ninth win in 29 starts. Junior Alvarado rode for trainer Bill Mott as the 7-year-old rallied from seventh, gradually pulling clear in the deep stretch for a 1-1/4-length score.

Private Zone, the pacesetter, held second at 32-1. Verrazano, winner of the Wood Memorial here in April, was third.

The stellar field included two Breeder's Cup winners earlier this month. Groupie Doll, the hero of the Filly & Mare Sprint, was fourth after encountering some traffic trouble. Goldencents, winner of the Santa Anita Derby and the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, was seventh as the 3-1 favorite.

Flat Out paid $15 on a $2 win bet. The time was 1:34.68 on the fast track.

Flat Out earned $450,000, including a $150,000 bonus as a previous Grade 1 winner, for Preston Stable.

Castellano swept the remaining stakes with odds-on favorites.

Stopchargingmaria took the Demoiselle for 2-year-old fillies by a neck over Got Lucky, giving trainer Todd Pletcher a 1-2 finish. She paid $3.90 to win.

Honor Code moved into next year's Kentucky Derby picture with a game effort in the Remsen for 2-year-olds. The colt trained by Shug McGaughey battled back after being passed in the stretch, edging Cairo Prince by a nose for his second victory in three starts. The win price was $3.60.

Hall of Famer McGaughey won the Derby for the first time in May with Orb.

Wedding Toast, trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, held on by a head over Toasting in the Comely for 3-year-old fillies. She paid $3.40 for her fourth straight victory.
