Fitzgerald limited at practice, Ellington seems doubtful vs. Chiefs

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald walked through the media room early Wednesday morning with no sign of a limp, announcing, "I feel good. I feel really good."
Coach Bruce Arians said Fitzgerald would practice in full on Wednesday after missing two weeks due to a MCL sprain suffered against Detroit on Nov. 16, but he was later listed as limited on the team's official injury report.
The Cardinals could really use his presence on the field Sunday against the equally desperate Kansas City Chiefs, as both clubs try to remain in the playoff picture. Fitzgerald's sure-handedness and ability to provide a safety valve for QB Drew Stanton out of the slot are invaluable, as is the leadership he brings to the huddle.
"Larry brings a ton of passion and he's also a big playmaker," Arians said. "He'll probably catch a couple of those high balls (that the Cardinals have missed in the past two weeks)."
In other injury news, Arians said running back Andre Ellington probably won't practice this week as he recovers from a painful hip pointer. Although Arians said he would be a game-time decision against the Chiefs, it seems unlikely he will play. Ellington limped out to the practice field during the open portion of practice and had to lower the stationary bike just to get on it.
"He's got a pretty bad hip pointer," Arians said.
Left tackle Jared Veldheer (ankle sprain), right guard Paul Fanaika (low-ankle sprain) and defensive tackle Ed Stinson (toe/groin) also missed practice Wednesday. Fanaika's and Stinson's status for Sunday is uncertain. Veldheer is expected to play.
