First-round pick Dunn signs with Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed guard Kris Dunn, the fifth overall pick in this year's draft.

Dunn, 22, averaged 16.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.5 points per game as a redshirt junior at Providence, earning Big East Player of the Year, Big East Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-America honors. He played parts of four seasons at the school and also earned conference player of the year and defensive player of the year honors as a redshirt sophomore.

Dunn will make his Timberwolves debut in the NBA Summer League, which takes place in Las Vegas from July 8-18. Minnesota's first game is against the Denver Nuggets on Friday.
