Ernie Els made a sweet downhill putt to make birdie on the 12th hole to cheers from the crowd at the U.S. Open Championship at the Pennsylvania's Oakmont Country Club on Friday.

And the South African and former No. 1 golfer decided to share the wealth with the spectators, tossing the ball into the crowd, where it was caught one-handed by a fan, who whooped with delight.

Two-time U.S. Open winner Els is currently four over after the second round.
