LONDON (AP) England will host its first day-night cricket test next year against the West Indies.
Edgbaston will stage the first match of the series from Aug. 17. Play will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., the England and Wales Cricket Board said on Thursday.
Pink Dukes balls will be used. The ECB said they were successfully trialed at Edgbaston in August in a local second XIs match.
The West Indies will have a chance to get used to the ball and night conditions in a floodlit warmup match against Derbyshire from Aug. 11-13.
England will be the third test-playing nation to host a day-night test, after Australia-New Zealand in Adelaide last year, and Pakistan-West Indies in the United Arab Emirates next week.
