England 191-6 at lunch on day 3 of 2nd test vs. India
VISAKHAPATNAM, India (AP) England reached 191-6 at lunch on day three of the second test against India, still trailing the hosts by 264 runs.
Starting from overnight 103-5, all-rounder Ben Stokes put on 110 runs for the sixth wicket with Jonny Bairstow (53), with the duo defying the Indian bowling for 44.1 overs.
Keeper Wriddhiman Saha gave Stokes a life on 21 as he missed a stumping off Ravichandran Ashwin (2-53) in the 55th over.
Stokes then reached his eighth test half-century off 108 balls, with seven boundaries.
At the other end, Bairstow scored his 12th test half-century off 137 balls, with five fours, before he was bowled by Umesh Yadav (1-34) just before lunch.
At the interval Stokes was unbeaten on 55 runs, with Adil Rashid on 1 not out.
England needs another 65 runs to avoid the follow on.
