Eddie Lacy doesn't practice, but expected to play

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The right ankle injury that Eddie Lacy
suffered in Sunday's game has kept him out of practice all week so far.
However, when the Green Bay Packers' offense takes the field this weekend
against the Dallas Cowboys, they expect to have their rookie running back
available.

"Based on Eddie’s specific injury, the training staff
feels confident he’ll be ready to go," coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday.

Lacy was injured on the final play of the first half in the
Packers' win over Atlanta. Based on how far away Green Bay was from being in
scoring position and with how little time was left on the clock, giving Lacy
the ball in that situation seemed like an unnecessary risk. But McCarthy stood
by his decision to do so, even though it resulted in Lacy missing a couple
drives in the second half.

Lacy finished the game with 20 carries for 65 yards and one
touchdown, but he admitted that the injury -- which forced him to put extra
tape around his ankle -- kept him from being as effective in the second half.

For the Packers to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, they
will need Lacy available and ready to go. He's proven to be the productive, workhorse
running back that Green Bay had been lacking for the past several seasons.

Though he missed one game earlier this season with a
concussion, Lacy sits just 113 yards shy of rushing for 1,000 yards in his
rookie season. He also has already set the franchise rookie record with seven
touchdowns.
