A runaway dog named Boogie Butts received national attention earlier this month when he received a medal for completing the Evansville (Ind.) Half Marathon.
But sadly, on Wednesday, the 100-pound chocolate lab passed away, according to his family.
According to WFIE in Evansville, Boogie’s owners wrote on Facebook that the dog, who got off his leash and then ran the 13.1-mile race in 2 hours, 15 minutes, suffered a heart attack. He was 8 years old.
