Although NHL fans were deprived of Doc Emrick's play-calling on NBC during the lockout, a small audience at a Detroit area ice rink recently had the privilege of hearing the veteran hockey announcer do his thing.
Emrick did play-by-play for a 12-and-under girls hockey game -- the St. Clair Shores Saintes against the Troy Lady Sting -- at the Troy Sports Center in his hometown of Troy, Mich.
