MIAMI -- The Miami Marlins on Thursday announced multi-platinum, international music icon DJ Khaled will perform pregame on Opening Day – Thursday, March 29 – at Marlins Park. The icon will be performing a set from his current sold-out tour, and will be joined by four-time Grammy winning songwriter and artist Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd for the live premiere of the Marlins’ new anthem, “Just Gettin’ Started”.

Opening Day pregame festivities will begin at 11 a.m., with DJ Khaled taking the field for a performance at 11:45 a.m. The Marlins will throw the very first pitch of Major League Baseball's 2018 Championship Season when Miami faces the Cubs on Thursday.

“Kicking off the season with this performance of our new anthem featuring DJ Khaled and Poo Bear is only the start of the energy we want to bring to Marlins Park each and every day,” said Marlins CEO Derek Jeter. “Fans need to make sure they get to Marlins Park early so they don’t miss this event that celebrates Miami.”

The Marlins’ new anthem, “Just Gettin’ Started” is a partnership with the Marlins’ organization and The Jingle Punks, a premier audio creative collective in Los Angeles who came together to create this energized and refreshed anthem to kick off excitement for the season. The fanmade single was produced and written by longtime partners and collaborators – highly-acclaimed songwriter & producer Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd (known for his work with Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston, Pink & many more), “Jingle” Jared Gutstadt, CCO and President of Jingle Punks, along with Sasha Sirota. Poo Bear and “Jingle” Jared joined forces to both creatively and sonically underscore the Marlins’ latest announcement of new management, and preludes what’s in store this season by bridging top production with some of the biggest names in music including Kent Jones, Nicky Jam and DJ Khaled – who are all featured on the record.

“We wanted a special anthem that embodies what we are doing as we enter this new phase of the organization,” Jeter said. “We are building something special for our fans in Miami and South Florida – and we’re Just Gettin’ Started.”

“‘Just Gettin' Started’ is the ultimate pump up song for a team like the Marlins that’s on the upswing of change,” says Jared Gutstadt CCO and President of Jingle Punks. “Something like this has never been done before with a Major League team in this capacity and we’re beyond excited to be at the musical and creative helm of such a significant moment in baseball history.”

"We were inspired when we entered the ballpark and met Derek Jeter, who told us about the energy of the City and the excitement of reinvigorating this team with new ownership,” said Poo Bear. “We went to work to create an anthem that encapsulated all of our favorite genres of pop music, Latin, with a dash of hip-hop to really create a song that represents all of Miami at its core.”

A limited number of Opening Day tickets remain available at Marlins.com/Tickets.

“Just Gettin’ Started” will be available for download on all digital music platforms on March 29.
