Darth Maul finally gets the screen time he deserves in fantastic 'Star Wars' fan film
One of the greatest crimes in the Star Wars franchise is that Darth Maul only got a measly 15 minutes of screen time in "The Phantom Menace." Here was this gloriously mysterious character with crazy face paint and a double-edged lightsaber that talked solely to be understood, and we barely even got to know him before he was cleaved in two and discarded down a generator shaft like so much space garbage.
Well a group of fans set out to right this egregious wrong with "Darth Maul: Apprentice - A Star Wars Film," which is appropriately SEVENTEEN minutes long.
In it, a slightly more round Darth Maul character takes down five Jedi and even pauses to consider his way before killing the sixth.

It's fantastic. Far better than a live-action fan film has any right to be. From the sheer scale of it to the fight choreography to Darth Sidious' 82-pack-a-day voice. Fantastic.
