D-backs trade prospect Palka to Twins for utility player Herrmann
PHOENIX -- The Diamondbacks traded first baseman/outfielder Daniel Palk to the Minnesota Twins for catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann.
Herrmann, 27, has appeared in 142 games over the last four seasons with the Minnesota Twins and defensively has appeared at catcher (69 games), right field (36), left field (17) and first base (2). In 389 career plate appearances, he has a .181 average, 15 doubles, one triple, six home runs and 33 RBI.
Palka, 24, was the D-backs' third-round pick in the 2013 draft. He spent the 2015 season with Visalia in Class A California League, hitting .280 with a team-leading 29 home runs, 36 doubles and 24 stolen bases. He's playing with the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .304 with two home runs and a team-leading 14 RBI in 69 at-bats.
