D-backs minor league report: Glaesmann on fire for Aces

Reno outfielder Todd Glaesmann continued his torrid streak by going 4 for 5 and hitting his 14th home run in the Aces' 6-4 loss to Memphis on Sunday.

Glaesmann is 15 for 22 over his last five games, raising his average from .264 to .301. He's scored seven runs and driven in five over those five games and has hit in 11 consecutive games. The 24-year-old Glaesmann, who came to the Diamondbacks from Tampa Bay in the 2014 Heath Bell trade and then temporarily retired, has played at three levels for the D-backs this season, compiling 19 home runs, four triples and 29 doubles in 340 at-bats.

RENO: Jamie Romak hit his 40th double in Sunday's loss to go with 25 home runs and 95 RBI. He's one RBI shy of Peter O'Brien's team-leading total.

MOBILE: Zack Godley pitched five shutout innings in the Bay Bears' 7-0 victory over Montgomery on Sunday night. Godley gave up two hits, walked three and struck out three, and John Omahen took over and pitched the final four innings, giving up only one hit. First baseman Rudy Flores was the hitting star, belting two home runs and drive in four.

MISSOULA: Cameron Smith, a 36th-round draft pick in June out of Texas Tech,  improved his record to 7-1 with a 1.78 ERA with six scoreless innings in the Osprey's 7-1 victory over Great Falls. Smith gave up only one hit and one walk while striking out four. For the season, he's struck out 58 in 50.2 innings while allowing only 36 hits and six walks. Second baseman Raymel Flores was 4 for 4 at the plate.
