D-backs claim pitcher Adcock off waivers from Kansas City

PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks claimed right-handed pitcher Nate Adcock off waivers from the Kansas City Royals and optioned him to Triple-A Reno.
Adcock, 25, was 3-4 with a 7.09 ERA in 10 games (nine starts) with Triple-A Omaha this season. He's appeared in 36 major-league games (five starts) with the Royals in 2011-12 and compiled a 1-4 record and a 3.79 ERA.
Adcock is 6-feet-4, 230 pounds and was originally drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the fifth round of the 2006 draft.
