Cristina's Journey dominates Grade 2 Pocahontas at Churchill Downs

Cristina's Journey won the $231,000 Pocahontas by 2 1/4 lengths Saturday at Churchill Downs for her second victory in two career starts.
Cristina's Journey led from the start in the Grade 2 race, shaking off a challenge from True to You. The filly earned 10 points in the first of 31 races in the Road to the Kentucky Oaks series.
The Dale Romans-trained filly also qualified for the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita on Nov. 1. Cristina's Journey debuted with a 4 1/4-length victory at six furlongs at Ellis Park in July.

With Miguel Mena aboard, Cristina's Journey ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:46.37 and paid $9, $5.20 and $4.
Pangburn paid $6 and $4.80, and Milehighbutterfly returned $15 after finishing 2 1/2 lengths back in third.
