Coyotes' Yandle selected for All-Star Game

The National Hockey League announced Thursday that Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle has been selected to participate in the 2012 All-Star Game, which will take place at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario, on Sunday, Jan. 29.

The 25-year-old Yandle has recorded five goals and 20 assists in 43 games this season to lead the Coyotes defensive corps in scoring. The native of Boston, Mass., is currently ninth overall in scoring among NHL defenseman.

This will be Yandle's second consecutive appearance at the NHL All-Star Game. He will be the 41st All-Star in franchise history.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound blue-liner has registered 37 goals and 132 assists in 326 career games with the Coyotes, including 16 goals and 68 assists in the last season and a half. He currently owns the fifth-longest consecutive-games streak in franchise history at 216.

NHL All-Star Weekend will be held in Ottawa from Jan. 26-29. The festivities culminate with the 2012 All-Star Game. Live television coverage will be provided by the NBC Sports Network in the United State as well as CBC and RDS in Canada.
