Conor McGregor's movie career might kick off sooner rather than later as the new UFC featherweight champion has been offered a part in Vin Diesel's new film "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage."

Diesel teased McGregor's possible inclusion in the movie with a post on Instagram on Monday.

"Timing and precision," Diesel said quoting McGregor's post-fight speech after knocking out Jose Aldo at UFC 194. "The casting of the new "XXX" gets more exciting every day."

Sources close to McGregor told FOX Sports on Tuesday that the Irish superstar has been offered a part, but as of yet terms haven't been reached on a deal that would see him land a featured role in the upcoming film.

McGregor has expressed a desire to crossover into movies at some point in the future, but his main focus remains fighting and he's hoping to do more of that very soon.

McGregor needed just 13 seconds to dispatch Aldo last weekend, and the new champion hopes to return to the Octagon in early 2016 rather than sit out for several months awaiting a card like UFC 200, currently scheduled for next July.

As for the role in the upcoming "xXx" movie, there's no word on how big or small the part might be but it certainly appears Diesel is on board to land McGregor for the project.

"xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" is currently in pre-production, but there is no release date set for the movie as of yet.
