Clowney: 'My goal in the NFL is to sack Andrew Luck'
Soon after the Houston Texans drafted Jadeveon Clowney with the No. 1 overall pick, the former South Carolina defensive star said Colts quarterback Andrew Luck "better have his head on a swivel."
Two months later, with the season fast approaching, Clowney still has his sights set on getting to Luck, according to a video interview on the Texans' official website.
"My goal for the rookie season is to try to better myself as a player," Clowney said. "... My goal in the NFL is to sack Andrew Luck. He's in my division, playing him two times a year; he's a dangerous quarterback, very smart with the ball, makes good decisions, so I just want to get after him and sack him one time."
Clowney is making the transition from defensive end to outside linebacker, making it a very real possibility that his goal will come true this season.
Hopefully, for the Texans' sake, he will be comfortable with going above his goal to sack Luck twice or more this season.
