CINCINNATI (AP) -- Kevin Johnson led a balanced attack with 11 points and Cincinnati used a stifling defense on Tuesday to overwhelm Wagner 72-48, the Bearcats' second game without head coach Mick Cronin.

Octavius Ellis, Shaquille Thomas and Quadri Moore added 10 points apiece for Cincinnati (8-3)

The Seahawks (2-8), shot 30 percent for the games, 17 percent in the first half when they fell behind 32-19, and had 12 shots blocked

Associated head coach Larry Davis was on the Cincinnati bench for the second game after Cronin was diagnosed with an aneurysm, which the school announced prior to the Bearcats' 68-47 loss to Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday.

In a school release, Cronin said, "I am doing well. I hate to be away from the team but all of my efforts are centered on my recovery. I appreciate everyone's well wishes but I want the focus to be on the Bearcats."

Cincinnati had no trouble, pounding Wagner inside for 38 points.
