Christie, Park win 1,500m races at short track World Cup

DRESDEN, Germany (AP) European champion Elise Christie of Britain and Park Ji-won of South Korea won 1,500 meter races at a short track World Cup on Saturday.

Christie finished in 2 minutes 41.200 seconds to beat Koreans Choi Min-jeong (2:41.346) and Kim A-lang (2:41.703).

Park won the men's race in 2:22.020, ahead of compatriot Park Se-yeong in 2:22.083 and World Cup leader Sjinkie Knegt of the Netherlands in 2:33.672.

Canada's Marianne St-Gelais won the women's 1,000 in 1:30.717, ahead of Tao Jiaying of China and Petra Jaszapati of Hungary.

Another Canadian won the men's 1,000, with Olympic champion Charles Hamelin clocking 1:25.676 to beat World Cup leader Semion Elistratov of Russia and fellow landsman Charle Cournoyer.

Elistratov set a world record of 1:22.607 in the quarterfinals.
