Deportivo Saprissa 2 – Sporting Kansas City 0

Saprissa made it a trio of Costa Rican sides in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals with a victory over the MLS Cup holders at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa. The home side needed to win by two or more goals without conceding in order to secure safe passage. Heiner Mora provided the necessary platform to achieve the feat when he poked home an inviting rebound after just 22 minutes. Ariel Rodriguez then completed the feat with a simple tap-in seconds into the second half. The result left Saprissa atop Group 2 and sent Sporting out of the competition at the first hurdle.

Club León 4 – Isidro Metapan 1

León completed its faltering run through the CCL with a straightforward home victory over Metapan. Jose Ruiz and Yamilson Rivera each scored twice to propel the reserve-laden Mexican champions to victory, while Nicolas Munoz snatched a late consolation goal for Metapan. Both teams exited the tournament with Herediano already guaranteed safe passage out of Group 6.
