Cameron Wake, Brent Grimes named to Pro Bowl for Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins are missing out on the playoffs but will be represented at the Pro Bowl by defensive end Cameron Wake and cornerback Brent Grimes, it was announced Tuesday.
Wake will be making his fourth appearance in six seasons after another strong year in which he has so far tallied 33 tackles (29 solo), 11 1/2 sacks, 18 quarterback hits, and eight tackles for loss in 15 starts. He also tied his career high with three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
In his second year with the Dolphins, Grimes is making his second consecutive Pro Bowl appearance and third overall in his career. He has started all 15 games and recorded 56 tackles (46 solo) while also leading the team with 13 passes defensed and five interceptions (including a 22-yard touchdown), which is tied for third in the NFL and second in the AFC.
Miami had sent three players to the Pro Bowl in each of the past six years, with guard Mike Pouncey and punter Brandon Fields joining Wake and Grimes last season.
The Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, Jan. 25, at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., Players were voted in by fans, coaches and players.
